The Lions will have some high priced international competition immediately before they play the All Blacks next year.
A one-off test against Argentina at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff the week before they fly out next May is apparently being organised.
It is understood the Lions are coughing up around the seven figure mark for the match, which would be the first ever Lions game played within the UK.
Argentina's leading rugby writer Frankie Deges says he is very confident the game will go ahead as the Lions want some match play
While Argentina will be competitive, they will not be too competitive.
Deges says it will be better for the Lions to arrive in New Zealand with a game under their belts rather than just jump straight in and he reckons it will work well for everybody involved, including Argentina's coffers.
Deges says he got wind of the match when someone from the Welsh union gave him a hint a few weeks ago.
He says high-powered meetings have been held in the past week or so, sealing the deal.
