Former Warriors playmaker Michael Witt will make his starting debut in the Air New Zealand Cup this weekend.
Witt has been named at first five-eighths for Otago's match against Hawke's Bay in Napier on Saturday.
He replaces Glenn Dickson, who has been dropped to the bench.
Fellow league convert Ryan Shortland has dropped out of the starting line-up, replaced on the left wing by Fetu'u Vainikolo.
There are three other changes to Otago's starting line-up, with Andrew Parata, Peter Mirrielees and Keith Cameron promoted to the side.
