Waikato player Chris Tipene will appear before a New Zealand Rugby Union Judicial Committee after being sent off in the NPC Division One B match between Waikato and Northland in Whangarei on Saturday.
Under NPC regulations, players ordered from the field automatically face a judicial hearing.
Tipene was given a yellow card for a professional foul by referee Dave Warren in the 77th minute of the match but was then red-carded for disputing the referee's decision.
The Judicial Committee hearing will take place at the NZRU offices in Wellington on Wednesday 4pm.
