Manawatu 22
Northland 16
Manawatu have kept their playoff hopes alive in the ITM Cup's Championship division following their 22-16 win over Northland in Palmerston North last night.
Some opportunistic scoring helped Manawatu on their merry quest to nab the points over the Taniwha in an error-riddled game that didn't provide a lot of entertainment.
Following an early Northland penalty, Manawatu scored the game's first five-pointer when a crooked lineout throw from Rob Foreman found blindside flanker Heiden Bedwell-Curtis who darted 25 metres to score mid-way through the first half.
It was a nice trick play but how the assistant referee missed the wonky throw-in was more than a head-scratcher.
