Counties Manukau look to have secured Sonny Bill Williams' services for the few remaining rounds of the ITM Cup.
Williams is eligible to play for the Steelers after the Roosters were bundled out of the NRL finals.
Newstalk ZB has reported that Williams could play as early as next Saturday when Counties Manukau play Southland but is more likely to feature in round nine when they play Auckland at home.
Counties Manukau's front office is in final negotiations with Williams' management, and an announcement is due to be made in the next day or two.
