There are 13 new faces in Wayne Pivac's first North Harbour rugby squad of the season.
Pivac has named 28 players for non-mandatory shield challenges against Thames Valley and Horowhenua-Kapiti, and a pre-season warm-up against Counties-Manukau.
Pivac has brought through plenty of national junior talent with world champion under 19 captain Chris Smith and team mates Ben Afeaki and Ken Pisi all named in the squad.
Pisi is joined by his brothers George and Tusi in the team, which will be captained by number eight Nick Williams.
Pivac says he will announce his full Air New Zealand Cup squad after July 14.
