Luke McAlister will appear at national provincial championship level for the first time this season when his Northern Harbour rugby team play Bay of Plenty on Saturday.
The international five-eighth has been included in the starting 15 for the game in Rotorua after missing North Harbour's opening two matches.
He was stood down from the first match after missing training and was then overlooked for the second because of limited preparation.
McAlister, who is trying to negotiate an early release from his contract with the New Zealand Rugby Union so he can join his new French club, will appear in a new look midfield.
Regular centre Rudi Wulf is unavailable due to a shoulder injury and his place has gone to Nafi Tuitavake.
North Harbour:
Willie Walker, Ken Pisi, Nafi Tuitavake, Luke McAlister, David Raikuna, Ben Botica, Chris Smylie (captain), Mat Luamanu, Scott Uren, Solomon King, Filo Paulo, James King, Ben Afeaki, James Parsons, James Afoa. Reserves: Manu Leiataua, Taione Vea, Chris Smith, Brent Wilson, Brenton Helleur, Brendon Watt, Codey Rei, Michael Field.
