Three former North Harbour stars and rejected assistant Jeff Wilson have applied to coach the troubled province next season.
Liam Barry, Paul Feeney and Blair Larsen all attended Rosmini College and have submitted applications to coach Harbour, who finished a very modest 11th in this year's ITM Cup competition.
Feeney was a union original who played mainly fullback in his 66 games for the province before branching out into a coaching career with Poverty Bay and now Bay of Plenty.
Larsen and Barry were All Blacks in the early 90s and Larsen has recently been an assistant coach with Northland while Barry has been involved with the Blues.
After a review of this year's disappointing campaign, coach Craig Dowd and his assistant Wilson were not reappointed but encouraged to reapply.
Applications closed yesterday and interviews are expected to be conducted next week.
