KEY POINTS:
Former All Black Blair Larsen has been named Northland rugby assistant coach for the next two seasons.
Larsen, who played 40 games and 17 tests at lock and loose forward for the All Blacks, was one of three applicants interviewed by a panel headed by Northland coach Bryce Woodward.
"We are delighted to have a coach of Blair's ability and standing in the game," Woodward said.
"His technical skills, coaching background and his clarity around the requirements to be successful at the Air NZ Cup level were a standout."
