Former Hurricanes utility Riki Flutey will play for Wellington in this year's ITM Cup.
Flutey last played for Wellington in 2005 before heading to the Northern Hemisphere where he was selected to represent England from 2008-2011.
In 2009, he was also named in the British and Irish Lions to tour South Africa after reinventing himself as a midfielder having previously played at halfback, first-five and fullback.
After nine years away from New Zealand, Flutey said he was excited to have the opportunity to return home with his young family and represent Wellington again.
"During my time playing rugby in England, France and Japan, I have experienced different cultures and styles of rugby. While working with, and learning from some exceptional players, coaches and trainers, I feel I have a lot of to share with our upcoming talent," he said.
