KEY POINTS:
The countdown is on for Canterbury prop Greg Somerville.
This Saturday's Air New Zealand Cup final in Wellington will be the veteran All Black prop's last match in New Zealand before he heads to Britain.
Somerville says he will reflect on his time in Christchurch as the week goes on but will arrive in Wellington with all his focus on the final.
Scott Hamilton is also leaving Canterbury at the end of the season to join Leicester.
Meanwhile, Canterbury is unfazed by the possibility two of its most senior players could miss Saturday's big match.
Andy Ellis and Casey Laulala are battling injury and a decision on their availability is not expected until later in the week.
Captain Kieran Read says there is enough talent to feel totally at ease with whoever plays.
He emphasises that everybody in the Canterbury team knows the new players will step up and do the job if required so it does not matter.
Isaac Ross is another in the questionable category.
