KEY POINTS:
Canterbury centre Casey Laulala will miss at least some of the Air NZ Cup rugby competition after breaking his arm in a club match last Saturday.
"The fracture's been confirmed," Canterbury coach Rob Penney told The Press newspaper.
Penney said the former All Blacks midfield back would undergo surgery today but it was too early to say when he would play again.
Canterbury start their Cup campaign on August 2 against Manawatu in Christchurch.
Penney is due to name his Cup squad this week, with prop Campbell Johnston set to be named after recovering from a hand injury which cut short his Super 14 season with the Crusaders.
