Bay of Plenty have claimed the biggest playoff victory this century in the New Zealand National Provincial Championship, destroying Manwatu 64-3 in Rotorua tonight.
The victory saw Bay of Plenty rack up their highest ever score, as well as their biggest win, and they produced the performance in a semifinal setting, overwhelming the utterly helpless Turbos in a crushing performance in the Championship semifinal.
The 10-try thumping was led by fullback Emoni Narawa, who had an incredible display, scoring a hat-trick which included 204 running metres, 15 defenders beaten and nine clean breaks.
There was nothing the Manawatu defence could do as they missed 37 tackles, and they were just as bad on attack, with a third-minute penalty - Manawatu actually lead 3-0 - the best they could offer before the Steamers, well, steamrolled them.
