Troubled Otago and Highlanders winger Lucky Mulipola has been loaned to Tasman for the rest of the Air NZ Cup rugby season.
Former Nelson Bays representative Mulipola was picked up by a Tasman side suffering from injury problems in the backs.
The 26-year-old has had limited opportunities down south, having broken his arm in the first game of the 2008 Super 14, and then struggling for form this year.
Mulipola can't play or train for Tasman until after September 7, when a four-week suspension ends following an incident in Dunedin in May.
He pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault with intent to injure and a trial date has yet to be set. His bail conditions have been changed in accord with his move north.
Last year Mulipola completed community work and was ordered to pay $5000 emotional harm reparation after assaulting a man in Dunedin.
He was also fined $1000 and disciplined by the New Zealand Rugby Union for the same offence.
