Laulala sidelined

A broken nose and fractured cheekbone will sideline Canterbury midfielder Casey Laulala from rugby for a month.

Laulala, All Blacks centre in the second test against Ireland last month, suffered the injury in Canterbury's pre-season match against Wellington last Sunday.

The Press reported today that a scan backed up Canterbury team doctor Tony Page's initial assessment that Laulala would be sidelined for about four weeks.

He will miss the opening rounds of the new premier division competition due to kick off on July 28.
