Lam and Howarth sign on for two more years

Coaches Pat Lam and Shane Howarth have been reappointed as Auckland NPC first division coaches for another two years.

Auckland Rugby Union chief executive David White said coach Lam and assistant Howarth had done an outstanding job in leading the team to the first division title this year.

Lam said both he and Howarth had enjoyed working with the team over the past two seasons and were keen to continue in their roles.

"We are thankful to the ARFU Board for the vote of confidence. Not just for our reappointments, but also for believing in us after the disappointments of 2004 (when Auckland finished seventh)," Lam said.

"This year has been fantastic but we see it as only the beginning. There is still a lot we want to achieve as a team and within Auckland there are a lot of talented players with the ability to add to Auckland Rugby's proud record."
