Knee injury puts Otago's Smith out for season

Otago winger Ben Smith's rugby season is over after he suffered a bad knee injury while training with Otago B.

The injury may be a ruptured ligament and could affect Smith's Super 14 chances next year.

Wing Greg Zampach's calf injury will also see him on the bench again this weekend for Otago's Air New Zealand Cup quarterfinal against North Harbour.

Rookie Karne Hesketh is in line to start again on the wing for Otago in Sunday's game.
