Jack may debut for Tasman

The new Tasman team in the Air New Zealand Cup might have the services of one of its two All Blacks this weekend.

It looks like All Blacks lock Chris Jack could make a surprise debut appearance for his new union.

Tasman officials say Jack is likely to see some sort of game time against Auckland at Eden Park on Sunday, although it would be a surprise appearance as the test veteran has played in all three Tri-Nations tests so far.

All Blacks teammate Rico Gear is unlikely to play on Sunday as he has a niggling injury from last Saturday night's test in Brisbane.

Overall it appears only around half a dozen test players will be rested this weekend.
