Bay of Plenty are likely to be without two important pack men for their cup opener against Wellington in the capital on Friday night.
The Bay, who had a first round bye, have injury worries over hooker Aleki Lutui, who has a calf strain, and No 8 Colin Bourke, who is battling a recurring ankle injury. Neither is likely to be fit for the trip south.
However captain and prop Ben Castle is expected to get over an ankle injury to lead the Bay.
To add to the Bay's problems, Wellington will have three of their All Blacks available, forwards Chris Masoe, Jerry Collins and Neemia Tialata.
