Mulvihill named as Mitchell's assistant

SYDNEY - Queensland club coach John Mulvihill has been appointed as John Mitchell's assistant at the new Perth Super 14 rugby franchise.

Mulvihill is coach of reigning Brisbane premiers the Gold Coast Breakers.

The Australian dropped out of the head coach race a month ago and swiftly endorsed Mitchell for the job.
