Wallabies skipper George Gregan will start off the bench in Saturday night's rugby test against England, allowing Stirling Mortlock to become Australia's 73rd test captain.
With Wallabies coach John Connolly giving Gregan a rest in the starting halfback role, Queenslander Sam Cordingley gets his first test cap in six years.
There are three changes to Australia's starting side which thumped England 34-3 in the first test.
NSW hooker Adam Freier comes in for 31-year-old rookie Tai McIsaac while Brumbies lock Mark Chisholm gets a run at blindside flanker with Daniel Heenan unavailable due to a shoulder injury.
Waratahs back-rower Wycliff Palu has also been named to make his test debut as a reserve.
