Canterbury rugby fullback Leon MacDonald says he and his family have been assured by a world-renowned specialist that he has "fully recovered" from his latest head injury and is now "at no greater risk than any other player."
MacDonald will play his first game for two months when he lines up at centre for a Canterbury XV in a trial match against Southland in Invercargill on Sunday.
The 25-year-old, who suffered three head injuries, including concussion, last year, has been sidelined since suffering concussion in the Crusaders' Super 12 final loss to the Blues on May 24.
