Former All Black Michael Jones - who is Samoa's national rugby coach - is apparently undecided on whether he will coach the Pacific Islands rugby team at the end of this season.
Jones has cited family commitments and is yet to speak to the Pacific Islands Rugby Association chief executive Sakapo Lolohea, who yesterday declined to comment, the FijiVillage website reported. The head coach and the squad were due to be named last Tuesday.
If Jones turns down the offer, PIRA's next option could be Fiji 15's coach, New Zealander Wayne Pivac, depending on his meeting with the Fiji Rugby Union Board on Monday.
Pivac, the former Auckland NPC coach, is being called back from New Zealand to face his employers on Monday as they decide his fate in the wake of Australia-A pounding Fiji 80-9 last month. His contract with FRU ends after the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
The Pacific Islanders Rugby Team will tour the UK in November.
