LONDON - Ireland No 8 Denis Leamy has been cleared of stamping in Saturday's Six Nations game against Italy.
Leamy was cited for allegedly stamping on Italy halfback Paul Griffen in Ireland's 26-16 victory. He is now free to play against France in Paris on Saturday.
"The three-man panel, chaired by Terry Vaux (Wales), arrived at the decision after viewing the video evidence and hearing the player's explanation," a statement said.
Leamy said: "I am happy that the whole process is now over and I believe that I received a fair hearing regarding the incident.
"I can now look forward to this weekend's game and performing to the best of my ability for Ireland."
