Doug Howlett is back in the Auckland NPC team.
The All Black winger has been named on the right wing for Auckland's match against Canterbury at Eden Park on Saturday night.
It is Howlett's first top team appearance in the 2004 competition, with shoulder and hamstring injuries keeping him out so far.
Auckland coach Pat Lam said he really impressed playing for the 'B' team last weekend.
Lam said Howlett put in a superb effort, scoring two tries and playing well without too much pressure.
Brent Ward switches to the left wing for the Canterbury game, with Joe Rokocoko playing off the bench again.
Lam said he needs to pick the best possible team and, with Ward in great form, he has also had to leave out exciting young back Isa Nacewa.
Young loosehead prop Saimone Taumoepeau is back starting after missing last weekend's match against Southland.
Three internationals are on the Auckland bench - Rokocoko, Sione Lauaki and Mose Tuiali'i.
Team: Mils Muliaina, Doug Howlett, Ben Atiga, Sam Tuitupou, Brent Ward, Carlos Spencer, David Gibson, Xavier Rush (captain), Daniel Braid, Jerome Kaino, Ali Williams, Brad Mika, Kees Meeuws, Keven Mealamu and Saimone Taumoepeau.
Reserves: Nathan Kemp, John Afoa, Mose Tuiali'i, Sione Lauaki, Orene Ai'i, Tasesa Lavea and Joe Rokocoko.
