JOHANNESBURG - South Africa wing Bryan Habana suffered a minor concussion in his team's 21-20 Tri-Nations rugby win over New Zealand on Sunday (NZT).
Habana was examined after complaining of dizziness following the match in Rustenburg.
Natal Sharks utility backs JP Pietersen and Brent Russell have joined the South African squad for their final Tri-Nations match against Australia in Johannesburg on Sunday (NZT).
The uncapped Pietersen and Russell, who has played 23 tests, were two of the attacking lynchpins in the Sharks side who narrowly missed out on making the Super 14 semifinals.
Springboks coach Jake White has hinted he will experiment further at fullback, after Jaque Fourie played in the position against the All Blacks and contributed to a more expansive approach by the South Africans.
"I think Jaque performed satisfactorily but I know he prefers playing at centre because it is closer to the action," White told the News24 website today.
"Percy Montgomery will certainly be considered again but I feel we should rather continue our search for a successor.
"The fullback against the Wallabies does not necessarily have to come from the current Tri-Nations squad. Maybe we'll call up someone from outside, maybe we stick with Jaque and maybe we have another option within the squad," White said.
South Africa and Australia will name their teams on Wednesday.
