Wallabies rugby winger Mark Gerrard will begin his audition as a test No 10 by playing five-eighth for the ACT Brumbies in the Australian Provincial Championship clash against Queensland at Ballymore in Brisbane on Saturday.
The selection comes after Wallabies coach John Connolly announced intentions to experiment with Gerrard at either first five-eighth or second five-eighth during Australia's November tour of Europe.
Wallabies captain and halfback George Gregan yesterday confirmed his withdrawal from the tour.
