The Fiji Rugby Union is concerned Australia has lost interest in a proposed six-nations tournament.
The Fiji Times said Australian officials were pushing ahead with their own initiative to develop a competition involving the four Australian Super 14 franchises and two teams from Japan.
The IRB has supported the introduction, from next season, of a competition involving the A teams from Australia and New Zealand, plus Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and Japan. But Australia have yet to confirm their participation.
