CAPE TOWN - Centre Wayne Julies has been recalled to the Springbok squad to replace injured Jean de Villiers, the South African Rugby Union announced today.
De Villiers hurt his ribs in the 36-16 first test win over Scotland on Saturday and is out of action for at least a month.
The 27-year-old Julies, who made his test debut in 1999, has played just eight tests for the Springboks in seven years.
The squad also welcomed the return from injury of locks Bakkies Botha and Albert van den Berg, wing Bryan Habana and prop CJ van der Linde.
The second test is in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
