Former Chiefs back Bundee Aki has struck the jackpot in Ireland, his outstanding form being rewarded with a massive new contract at Connacht.
Centre Aki - who qualifies to play for Ireland towards the end of next year - was a key performer in Connacht's triumph in the 2015/16 Pro12, a competition involving clubs from Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. He was the Connacht and Pro12 player of the year.
There are various reports of what Aki's new contract is worth, ranging from $530,000 to nearly $1m a year.
"The last two years with Connacht Rugby have been incredible," Aki said in a statement on the Connacht website.
"I moved over here not really knowing what to expect but this place has become home to me and my family now. I am proud to be part of this Connacht team and I'm excited to see what we can achieve together."
