Will England break the All Blacks' record win streak?

New Zealand Rugby's crash back towards reality following the loss to Ireland in Chicago could have a bitter sting still to come - Eddie Jones and England are lining up to take the All Blacks' record for the longest winning streak in test history.

We did the maths today and encountered a scenario that no self-respecting All Blacks fan should have to contemplate.

Following their renaissance under former Wallaby mentor Jones, England has been unbeaten in its past 10 Tests.

If they win their four upcoming autumn internationals against South Africa, Fiji, Argentina and Australia - which is a feat Jones will firmly believe his team is capable of - it will take them to 14 ahead of the Six Nations tournament - just four wins shy of the All Blacks' new world record of 18 test wins on the trot.

Gallingly, it would mean that if the dreaded men in white were to go through the Six Nations tournament undefeated - as they did last season - they would take the record off Steve Hansen's team without the All Blacks even getting a chance to deny them the mark.
There is some hope, though.

If England were to beat Scotland at Twickenham on March 11 next year, they would equal the All Blacks' streak but would then need to beat Ireland in their final Six Nations in Dublin to create a new world best.

Should such a scenario play out, every All Black fan around the world will become a temporary Irish supporter and will be praying Joe Schmidt's men lower the English colours.
