The season could be over for All Blacks winger Sitiveni Sivivatu.
He will see a specialist on Thursday for further assessment on his ongoing shoulder injury.
Chiefs coach Ian Foster said Sivivatu has had problems with his shoulder for well over a year and surgery may be the best option. He wants to make sure the next step is the best, in the long term.
Sivivatu could be out for six months.
Stephen Donald has a calf injury and will miss the Chiefs' match against the Hurricanes on Saturday.
