All Blacks captain Kieran Read has kept his message to his young and inexperienced side simple this week.
He's told the troops to trust in themselves, play their own game and be confident about who they are.
Hidden in that is a confidence within Read that while the All Blacks have made multiple changes, the men who have come in are capable of their own heroics.
A veteran of more than 100 tests, Read knows that more often than not, relatively unknown and inexperienced players tend to surpass expectation when they slip on a black jersey.
That doesn't happen by chance, but because there is genuine strength in depth and when new players are able to be confident enough to play what they see, the results often far exceed expectation.
