Former All Black rugby halfback Danny Lee has been appointed captain of the Hawke's Bay side for this season's Air New Zealand Cup.
Lee, who began his first-class career with Hawke's Bay before moving to Counties Manukau and Otago, returned to his home province last season.
"Danny's leadership qualities and experience are unquestionable and it gives me great pleasure in being able to appoint him as captain," the Magpies' new coach Peter Russell said today.
