All Blacks selection is far from the mind of Waikato first five-eighths Stephen Donald as he prepares for Saturday night's Air New Zealand Cup match against Northland in Hamilton.
The 25-year-old has played two of what should be a three-match stint for the Mooloos before joining up with the All Blacks squad for the end-of-year tour.
Donald says he is not viewing this as his last game of the season for Waikato as the All Blacks have not been named yet, so you take every week as it comes.
The All Black coaches told Donald to enjoy himself on his return to the Air New Zealand Cup and that is exactly what he has been doing. He has helped Waikato continue its resurgence over the last fortnight to ensure they remain in the playoff hunt.
Donald says he is enjoying the greater freedom, as there is a lot less intensity and the games are a bit more open.
