Injured All Black Mike Delany is set for a sooner-than-expected return to provincial rugby which could put him in contention for the end-of-year tour.
The Chiefs first five-eighths fractured a joint in his shoulder during the Super 14 and, after surgery, was told he'd need six months on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old said he hoped to play some part in Bay of Plenty's ITM Cup campaign.
