KEY POINTS:
The Wallabies have set another challenge for the All Blacks this week in reuniting their tandem looseforward speedsters.
When bulky blindsider Rocky Elsom withdrew from Saturday's return test because of a foot injury, coach Robbie Deans ignored the option of replacing him with Hugh McMenamin, who is another rangy lineout option.
Instead Deans promoted the foraging Phil Waugh to work in tandem with last week's skipper, George Smith, in what will be a massive inquest for the All Black looseforward trio.
"It was straightforward," Deans said of his decision while he also confirmed regular skipper Stirling Mortlock had recovered from concussion and would start at centre in place of Ryan Cross.
"Some may suggest our lineout will suffer but we don't think so. Obviously we will get great mobility out of them. It will be a fast game, you have an All Black side that is desperate and a side who profited from quick throws and freekicks last week so they will be looking to up the tempo when they are in possession.
"When you look at the selection of three fullbacks [Leon MacDonald, Mils Muliaina and Sitiveni Sivivatu] it is an indication they will play a slightly more percentage-orientated game and will look to counter kicks with kicks."
The Wallabies hope to end a nine-test, 22-year drought at Eden Park since their last win at the projected World Cup final arena. The All Blacks have had 17 consecutive victories there since losing to France in 1994. The ground will undergo reconstructive surgery once Saturday's test is done.
Both sides have injected further experience into their sides with rival skippers Mortlock and Richie McCaw chosen to start after missing last week while MacDonald, Conrad Smith and Waugh are all experienced international players.
