One of world rugby's leading scrummaging coaches, Mike Cron, has re-signed with the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) as a resource coach through to 2011.
Cron has been credited with dramatically improving New Zealand forward play since he was first appointed an NZRU resource coach in 2004.
"He is world-class, one of the most innovative coaches operating in the world today and we are delighted to have him re-sign with the NZRU through until 2011," NZRU professional rugby general manager, Neil Sorensen, said today.
Cron first came to attention coaching the Canterbury provincial side in the 1980s, and he has also coached in Japan, Italy, France, England, Ireland, Wales, the United States, Canada, Samoa, Dubai and Kenya.
As a resource coach he works with all of New Zealand's national teams, from the All Blacks to the Black Ferns and sevens teams.
