KEY POINTS:
All Blacks first five-eighths Daniel Carter will miss the Crusaders opening Super 14 warm-up game because of a calf injury, The Press reported.
Carter strained a muscle at training and will not be risked for the match against the Highlanders in Motueka on Friday.
Leon MacDonald and Stephen Brett are likely to take over from Carter in the No. 10 jersey. Brett has also been troubled by a thigh injury but it is hoped he will be fit to play.
