Forty-plus former All Black lock Brad Thorn could make an extraordinary comeback for the ailing Queensland Reds.
The Reds have just sacked coach Richard Graham after only two rounds of the 2016 Super Rugby competition, with assistants Nick Stiles and Matt O'Connor set to take charge.
Thorn, unwanted by the Highlanders in 2015, retired last year, but has kept training. He is in charge of the Reds under-20s whose final game is on March 19.
"I'm tempted, I'll always be tempted, but if it happens it won't happen until the end of the Under 20 tournament," Thorn told the Brisbane Courier-Mail.
But Reds head of rugby Daniel Herbert would like to have him available earlier.
