KEY POINTS:
The Australian Rugby Union is not giving up on the idea of one day luring Robbie Deans across the Tasman.
Deans has confirmed he will not be pursuing the vacant Wallabies coaching job as he wants to take charge of the All Blacks, if the opportunity arises.
ARU High Performance Manager Pat Howard said they understand Deans' position and although it is disappointing, the Crusaders coach could still be an option in the future.
He said there are a limited number of experienced coaches around and while Deans is out of the running now, he could become available further down the track.
They will continue to keep in contact with him to see if his plans change.
Howard said they will be interviewing five applicants for the Wallabies job next Friday, including Blues coach David Nucifora.
