Rugby: All Blacks' Kieran Read becomes fourth member of test rugby's 100-wins club

Kieran Read has etched his name alongside test rugby's elite.

After leading the All Blacks to a 16-15 win over England on Sunday, Read became just the fourth player to reach 100 test wins.

He joins former All Blacks Richie McCaw, Keven Mealamu and Tony Woodcock in reaching the mark. Needing 116 matches to reach the milestone, Read ties Woodcock as the second-fastest to join the club, behind McCaw who needed just 112 tests. Mealamu brought up his 100th win in his 117th test.

Since making his All Blacks debut in 2008, Read has been a recurring fixture in the side, with 109 starts in his 116 appearances. In that time, he has been a part of just 13 losses and three draws for a winning percentage of 87.5 per cent.

It adds to a glowing resume for the 33-year-old, who has been a part of two successful Rugby World Cup campaigns, Rugby Championship and Bledisloe Cup reigns, as well as a host of Super Rugby and Mitre 10 Cup title runs.

He's unlikely to be the last player of the current All Blacks squad to reach the milestone. Lock Sam Whitelock (95 wins) and prop Owen Franks (91) will likely have the opportunity to do so next year.

Aside from New Zealand representatives, former Australian halfback George Gregan has come closest to claiming 100 wins, with 93 to his name in 139 appearances.
