The finalists have been announced and it could be one of the most debated questions this year - who was the best All Black in 2016?
Beauden Barrett, Dane Coles, and Sam Whitelock round out the field for the Kelvin R Tremain Memorial in a year that saw record-breaking success for the All Blacks.
Barrett won World Rugby Player of the Year, en-route to leading the All Blacks in almost all of the offensive stat categories.
Dane Coles emerged as a pioneer for how the modern day hooker can play. His running game, strong defence, almost immaculate lineout, and cheeky flair has made him one of the best in the world. He was also a nominee for World Rugby Player of the Year.
Meanwhile Whitelock will be chuffed to join the two fan-favourites. His value to the All Blacks was made known not just when he was on the pitch, but when he was off it and the Kiwi lineout turned to crumbs. He's emerged as one of the best in his position, though he's up against it with Barrett and Coles' stats.
