Ma'a Nonu, described as one of the most devastating attackers in world rugby, will play for Wellington against the Lions next week.
The dangerous utility missed out on tonight's All Black test against Fiji because of a shoulder problem, but was cleared to play for his province on Wednesday. All Black coach Graham Henry confirmed others in the 26-strong test squad for the Lions series could be released for provincial matches or the Junior All Blacks.
However, there was an emphatic "no" when the coach was asked whether All Black captain Tana Umaga could also play for his Wellington province.
The All Black squad will be revealed on Sunday before they have a camp for four days in Auckland, then assemble for the week of their first test in Christchurch. The test XV will be announced on June 21.
