Man who streaked at All Blacks Eden Park match charged

A man who interrupted the dying moments of Saturday's test match between the All Blacks and British Lions by streaking is facing a criminal charge.

The Herald can reveal that the man, a 23-year-old from Ruakaka, will appear in the Auckland District Court on Friday.

He is facing one count of invading a pitch of a major sporting event.

A video of the man filmed from the stands shows him undressing and making a run for it.

He burst onto the field after the Lions scored a try in the final moments of the game, before the conversion kick could be taken.

He made it to the middle of the field before security guards converged on him, covering his naked body with a jacket and marching him under the stands.

Police could not comment further on the matter as it was before the courts.
