The news keeps getting bad for All Blacks loose forward Sione Lauaki, who was today ruled out of rugby for at least three months.
Lauaki already knew he would miss the remainder of the Super 14 series for the Chiefs due to a chest injury sustained against the Bulls on April 8.
The Chiefs today announced that Lauaki was set to have surgery early next week to repair a torn pectoral muscle.
The franchise said Lauaki was expected to be unavailable for rugby at least three months while he recovers from the chest injury.
