All Blacks selector Grant Fox hopes officials will meet to discuss the interpretation of forward pass calls following Wayne Barnes controversial decision to deny TJ Perenara a try in last night's test against Wales.
Contention arose when Wayne Barnes refused the advice of his TMO, who told Barnes the pass from Aaron Cruden to Perenara was legitimate and the try should be awarded.
Speaking to Tony Veitch this afternoon, Fox didn't believe Barnes was over-stepping his power to trump the TMO but said the rule book is clear and the try should have been awarded.
Fox said while they can't change what happened he hoped the decision would help highlight the ambiguity around forward pass rules.
