WELLINGTON - New Zealand Rugby Union chief executive Chris Moller has no problem with All Blacks first five-eighth Daniel Carter turning his golden feet to soccer in a weekend off.
Carter, New Zealand's star playmaker, took advantage of a recent break for the All Blacks from Tri-Nations duty to play a recent lower level club soccer match for Christchurch club Nomads.
Moller wasn't aware that Carter had breached his All Blacks contract and said he was quite happy to hear the International Rugby Board player of the year in 2005 was dabbling in the round ball code.
"Some players play golf, one particular player goes flying (All Blacks captain Richie McCaw). These guys have got to have things outside their rugby life," Moller told Radio Sport.
"If DC wants to play soccer and be with his mates, then good on him. Hopefully it will make him even better on the rugby field - that might be hard."
