A shivering All Blacks captain Tana Umaga paid tribute to his tight five forwards' performance after the All Blacks 21-3 win in Christchurch tonight.
"We just had to adapt to the weather and we just made best use of it," Umaga said.
"We asked a lot of our tight five in the set pieces and they came through great for us.
"Defence is such a major part and today we were huge in that area."
Stand-in Lions captain Martin Corry said O'Driscoll's loss played a big part in his side's performance.
"It was a crushing blow. He's been immense as a leader on this trip," Corry said.
"But like all the injuries we've had, we can't look over our shoulders and feel sorry for ourselves, we have to bounce back next weekend.
"We struggled in the lineouts and were put under enormous pressure. Credit to the All Blacks pack, they seemed to read our movements very well."
