All Blacks first five-eighth Dan Carter has been nominated alongside some of the biggest names in world sport for the BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year award.
Fellow nominees are Usain Bolt (athletics), Novak Djokovic (tennis), Katie Ledecky (swimming), Jordan Spieth (golf) and Serena Williams (tennis).
Carter retired from international rugby with a man of the match performance in the Rugby World Cup final, kicking 19 points in the victory over Australia.
He was also named World Rugby player of the year and finished his career as rugby's all-time leading points scorer, with 1598 from his 112 tests.
British bookmakers Ladbrokes have Carter as 3/1 odds to win the award with Usain Bolt the odds-on favourite. Bolt has won the award three times - a record he holds with tennis star Roger Federer and boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
